Fanta Orange & German-made Butterkeks

I wanted to start off the first food-related post writing and showing pictures of the yucky school food. The only way I could take pictures of the cafeteria food is using my handphone; unfortunately I left my handphone cable back home… so the only ‘Swiss’ food I could photograph now are the junk food I have in my room – Fanta Orange and some German cookies.

Switzerland’s Fanta Orange

This my favourite orange flavored carbonated drink.

I think I remember drinking Fanta back in Malaysia a long time ago then somehow it seemed to have mysteriously disappeared from the market. (the last time I check I couldn’t find Fanta Orange back home)

When I came to Switzerland I saw Fanta Orange everywhere while the only other orange flavoured drink I notice was Orangina which taste awfully similar. The thing I love most about Fanta Orange is that actually tastes like Orange juice with gas. Think sparkling orange juice. It also looks somewhat like orange juice which is yellow in color rather than that creepy orange we get from F&N Orange. No doubt its merely Yellow coloring but it gets credit for trying to look real

I’d recommend the yellow colored Fanta Orange to people who likes this sorta drinks. It gets a 4.5/5

Fact: Fanta Orange in China tastes slightly different from its Swiss counterpart and it has that creepy orange color. Weird huh?

Leibniz Butterkeks / Goldringe (Butter biscuits)

I’m not a big fan of cookies/biscuits but I didn’t want to get chips, so I got myself Leibniz Butterkeks and Goldringe to keep myself alive during dreadful pizza nights. The fact that i’d choose to have cookies over pizza should say something about the quality of the pizza served.

Anyway, Leibniz Butterkeks and Goldringe are German made butter biscuits and the reason I bought them was because they looked like the locally made biscuits we have back home. After trying the biscuits I realised it doesn’t just look alike, it tastes the same too. And there I was thinking European cows produce better milk hence tastier butter cookies. Then again, German made biscuits doesn’t mean German cow milk; it could simply mean biscuits made in Germany by illegal Chinese labour using Chinese cow milk. Hmm, Chinese cow milk… sounds awfully popular these days.

Leibniz Butterkeks and Goldringe gets a 2.5/5 for tasting exactly the same as local butter biscuits but costs 3 times more.

Thats all for now. Next time i’ll try to post my favourite tortilla chips! In the meantime still hoping to see posts from Sam and Ryck -_-’

Welcome to Eat-tadakimasu. This first post was created out of boredom from a very bored and hungry Jon. No pictures or reviews to share this time around. Will be posting as soon as I have some yucky Swiss food to post about.
